Born in 1934 Billy Direct broke the world record of 1:58 mile making him the fastest harness horse in the world, after his retirement from the track he was a stallion at stud based at Peninsular Farms in Freemont, Ohio and then later Hanover Shoe Farms until his death in 1947.
